Accompanist

The accompanist for the Chamber Singers plays a vital role - not only accompanying every Monday night rehearsal, but also running sectionals and performing in concerts.

Lynda Hakken, accompanist, teaches Fundamentals of Music, Music Theory I & III, studio organ, and piano at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. Hakken is an active solo performer and accompanist, having performed throughout the Midwest. Her recent doctoral research on keyboard harmony resulted in a beginning method for which she is seeking a publisher. Hakken holds a D.M.A in organ performance and pedagogy, and an M.A in organ performance from the University of Iowa. Hakken received her B.M. in organ performance from Hope College (Mich.).
